About Captain – The Little Artist Behind Every Drawing

Captain is 6 years old. He lives in Loei, a small province in northeastern Thailand, and he draws almost every single day.

He started learning art in kindergarten — not because anyone pushed him, but because he simply loved it. From his very first crayon lines, it was clear this wasn’t just a hobby. It was how he made sense of the world.

Since then, Captain has been collecting his artwork — paintings in bold watercolors, oil pastels that practically glow off the page, and quiet pencil sketches tucked carefully into folders. Two full binders of line drawings alone. Every piece kept. Every piece loved.

Every Saturday and Sunday, he attends art classes at a local art center near home, taught by a primary school art teacher he adores. He goes not just to learn new techniques, but because he loves being around friends who are creating alongside him. He comes home buzzing with ideas.

There’s something else worth mentioning — something Captain’s parents didn’t plan, but are quietly grateful for. While most kids his age spend hours glued to a screen, Captain has something he’d rather do. When he has a pencil in his hand or a blank sheet in front of him, the phone simply doesn’t exist. He draws with full focus, full presence. Screen time in this house isn’t a battle — it happens only when his parents say it’s okay, and Captain accepts that easily, because he already has something better to do. That kind of focus, that ability to sit with a task and see it through, shows up in everything he learns.

Now in Grade 1, Captain is excited about everything ahead of him — new subjects, new challenges, and yes, the art club he’s already looking forward to joining.
