The Morning Commute – Kids Art City & Nature Landscape by Captain
In this busy and cheerful work titled “The Morning Commute,” 5-year-old Captain illustrates the excitement of a day out with friends. A bright yellow school bus leads a line of cars along a winding road that stretches toward green mountains and a beautiful rainbow. In the foreground, four friends are waving happily, ready for their adventure. There’s even a traffic light and a “Stop” sign, showing Captain’s observation of the rules of the road in his community.
Technique: This artwork is a masterclass in complex composition. Captain has successfully managed multiple layers: the group of people in the front, the receding road in the middle, and the distant mountains in the back. He used heavy-textured crayons to give the cars and the road a solid feel, while the field of pink flowers is created with delicate, repetitive strokes. The use of white highlights on the road and clouds adds a wonderful sense of light and dimension to the entire scene.
A quick note from Captain's dad 👋
Thanks for being here. My son Captain is 6, and this whole site exists because his drawings were too good to keep hidden in a folder at home.
When you download a piece, you can print it, frame it, use it as wallpaper, or put it on mugs, shirts, cards — whatever makes you smile.
Every sale pays for his next box of pastels and his next art class. He lights up when someone picks his work. Thank you. 💛
